Our four-stage process is designed to access the right information, the right way, for lasting and positive impact.
A unique approach for robust decision-making.
We Think
Our exploratory phase involves conducting extensive research, scoping the problem and datasets involved. Domain specialist knowledge and insight empower us to go beyond the surface of a challenge.
We define the key components and dimensions of the system: What is the market? Who are the players?
The way we express a problem, and the terms in which we define it, are critical to how we solve it. Once we define the key variables, we can start to express them in numerical terms.
We Design
By connecting the right information in the right way, we see the big picture to fuel bespoke and ownable analytical systems.
This is where thinking converges, distilling findings from the initial phase. This involves developing insights that can inform us of customer hypotheses that can be tested through our models.
We Model
Models allow us to distil complex systems into their key components, helping us to better understand the relationships between these elements. They also enable us to simulate — where we test our intuition, deepen our understanding, and explore a system’s limits, without impacting it. In the virtual environment of a model, we can build a highway, shut down a power station, or even merge two rival firms.
Many challenges are suited to optimisation. We have extensive experience in operations research and are well-versed in a wide range of optimisation tools and programming languages, including AIMMS, GAMS, AMPL, and Python with Gurobi. We regularly prototype optimisation models in days, with extensive expertise in electricity market modelling.
